    Description

This is a Vintage Lock For a Cast Iron US Mailbox Letterbox. It is numbered and stamped. These are the locks used on the first type of letterbox's from the Late 1800 and were of continual use until street letter box's were decommissioned. It is a 5 pin lock made of brass, tight, with a well desired patina, it is heavy and comes fully warranted. It also comes with a chain attached for mounting and one "original" working key, with that i also added a reproduction of an original time's of collection card, this for placement on an original cast iron street letter box. Just to give your box that still in commission look. This particular lock has a fine working spring loaded action when the key is inserted, the shackle purposely and forcefully springs open.
