The mailbox's hinged lid opens like you're lifting the flap of an envelope.

The large box is 100% zinc galvanized iron sheet, and measures a generous 16.25" wide, 12.25" tall and 5.25" thick. It's big enough to hold all of your magazines and then some! It weighs about 5 pounds.
The top flap is flat, so if you want to use it as an actual mailbox, it's best used on a covered porch where it's not in direct line of the elements.
