Antique Cast Iron Mailbox
This mailbox came from a 1930 Chicago bungalow
The carpenter that owned the bungalow mounted it on wood for easy installation
Footprint is approx. 16.75" x 6.25"
This is basically identical to a Griswold box however there is no stamp
The number stamps are difficult to discern, the first could be 861, 361, 193, or 198. Depends on the direction you look at it :/
Other stamp is 353 or 363
Time has rounded out the print
I tried to use the most economical method of shipping because it's heavy!
This was not obtained at a garage sale, thrift store, outlet, close-out etc
.
I know where it came from
and it has not been out of my hands (or my family’s)
